Press Release

Resolution of the Labor Dispute between AS Kihnu Veeteed and EMSA

Following the conclusion of an agreement and the signing of a collective agreement—satisfactory to both parties in the dispute, the Estonian Seamen’s Independent Union (EMSA) and AS Kihnu Veeteed—at 07:19 today, we announce the cancellation of the strike scheduled for September 18 on AS Kihnu Veeteed ferries and shipping lines.

We thank all parties involved—including the employer, AS Kihnu Veeteed, and the representatives of the ship crews—for the constructive approach taken over the past week and a half, which enabled the agreement to be reached and the strike action to be called off.

We hope that the collective agreement, concluded for a term of three years (or until AS Kihnu Veeteed ceases operations on the Munalaid-Kihnu, Munalaid-Manilaid, Rohuküla-Sviby, Sõru-Triigi, and Laaksaare-Piirissaare routes), will ensure industrial peace throughout the period and provide the company’s employees with more secure and improved working conditions.

We wish a pleasant journey and calm weather to all passengers who had planned to use the aforementioned ferry lines starting September 18.
