all companies must have a Collective Bargaining Agreement

The Swedish Transport Workers’ Union announced solidarity actions with the dockers in the form of a blockade against all loading and unloading operations of Tesla cars in four ports in Sweden: Gothenburg, Malmo, Trelleborg and Sodertalje.

The company TM Sweden AB Tesla has for several years refused to sign a collective agreement with IF Metall.
In connection with the ongoing conflict, IF Metall has requested solidarity action from the Swedish transport union.

The Actions will start on 7 November at 12:00.

The ETF and Swedish Transport Workers’ Union stand up for the Swedish and European labour principle that all companies must have a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The Swedish Transport Workers’ Union announces sympathy measures in the form of a blockade against all loading and unloading of Tesla cars in four ports. The background is Tesla’s reluctance to sign a collective agreement with IF Metall.

TM Sweden AB, Tesla has for several years refused to sign a collective agreement with IF Metall. In connection with the ongoing conflict, IF Metall has requested sympathetic measures from Transport.

– For Transport, it is a matter of course to back IF Metall when they ask for support. In Sweden and in the Swedish labor market, we have collective agreements – Transport will always stand up for that. Tesla employees must of course also be covered by safe and decent conditions, says Tommy Wreeth, Transport’s union chairman.

Transport announces sympathy measures in the form of a blockade against all loading and unloading of Tesla cars in the following four Swedish ports:

Malmö – (Copenhagen Malmö Port AB)
Södertälje – (Södertälje Harbor AB)
Gothenburg – (Logent Ports & Terminal AB Gothenburg)
Trelleborg – (Trelleborg Harbor AB)

The sympathy measure will take effect on November 7, 2023 at 12:00. The action will continue until further notice or until a collective agreement is signed between IF Metall and TM Sweden AB, Tesla.

We count on your cooperation.

In solidarity, ETF
